Carolyn Cole, a junior sociology major, received the 2008 Leadership and Service Delores P. Aldridge Excellence Award on Thursday, March 27, 2008. The Excellence Awards were inaugurated and named for Dr. Delores P. Aldridge at the 20th Annual Excellence Awards Banquet, held April 2003. Dr. Aldridge, Professor of Sociology and Grace Towns Hamilton Professor, is Emory's first African American professor and founder of the African American Studies Program at Emory University.
